标题: Chrome's latest beta update for Windows adds support for Dark Mode, feature to reduce motion sickness
Apart from the Dark Mode, the new beta update for Chrome on Windows also brings a new feature that reduces unnecessary scrolling animations and more within the Chrome browser to reduce motion sickness.[br][br][br] (, 下载次数: 0) [br][br]Google has updated its popular browser Chrome to version 74 of the beta program on Windows and added to it some exciting functionality including the highly-anticipated dark mode on Windows 10. Previously, Google had rolled out the feature with version 73 on the macOS. But it appears that after a round of testing, the feature will now soon be ported to the much larger Windows community.[br][br]Just like the Mac version, when you turn on the system-wide dark mode in Windows Settings, Google’s browser also follows the command and switch to the Dark Mode. However, Chrome will revert to its default state if the user switches back to light mode from within the system settings.[br][br]But that's not it, the new beta update also brings with it a number of new features. One of which is a feature that promises to reduce motion sickness that many users experience while browsing the internet. [br][br]In a post uploaded on its blog, Google explains, “Some users have reported getting motion sick when viewing parallax scrolling, zooming, and other motion effects. To address this, many operating systems like Android … provide an accessibility option to reduce motion whenever possible.”[br][br]The feature thus would reduce scrolling animations within the Chrome browser to provide users with a much smoother experience that is expected to cause them less discomfort. [br][br]In the post, developer Thomas Steiner explained:[br][br]"...with flashing ads, fancy parallax effects, surprising reveal animations, autoplaying videos, etc., the web sometimes can honestly be quite overwhelming... Happily, unlike in real life, there is a solution to that. The CSS media query prefers-reduced-motion lets developers create a variant of a page for users who, well, prefer reduced motion. This can comprise anything from refraining from having autoplaying videos to disabling certain purely decorative effects, to completely redesigning a page for certain users."[br][br]Once tested, the new features are soon expected to find place on the future stable builds of the software. [br][br]
