The smartphone world got a bit boring in recent times. All we had were flat slabs. Dual cameras were so common nobody flinched anymore to see one. 4G had become mainstream and was no longer such a big deal. Last year’s flagships were incremental improvements over the year before’s.[br][br]Artificial reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) did not make a big splash despite efforts by a few manufacturers to ride on it. It is safe to assume that technology needs to innovate further before AR/VR go big.[br][br]Things sort of cruised along. Then we saw a few glimpses of the future as 2018 rolled to an end. But 2019 has some fresh excitement for us all especially with some very big announcements at the just concluded CES (Consumer electronics show) 2019[br][br][br] (, 下载次数: 0) [br][br]The 4 Hot Innovations In Mobile Devices In 2019:[br][br]There are several innovations that will happen in 2019 in the mobile world, but I have curated a list of the ones that will be hot.[br][br]Mega Megapixel Triple Camera:[br][br]Apart from Nokia and Samsung, and recently Huawei, the rest of the smartphone world has shied away from big megapixels on their cameras. That changes in 2019.[br][br]2018 was the year of dual cameras. 2019 will be remembered as the year of the 48-megapixel camera and the triple camera.[br][br]Chip manufacturers like Qualcomm and Mediatek are announcing chipsets that support up to 48 megapixels. It is a deliberate thing. Everyone – maybe except Apple – will put a triple camera with a 48MP lens in their high-end mobile devices in 2019. Everyone.[br][br]And even if Apple ignores the 48MP camera, it is likely going to have a triple camera on its 2019 iPhone flagship.[br][br]Under-Display Fingerprint Sensor:[br][br]2018 gave us flashes of this feature but it never hit the market big. Part of the reason for that was the fact that under-display sensors were not yet as fast as what we were used to with traditional sensors. So most brands shied away from them.[br][br]But that will change this year and this will be one of the top innovations in mobile devices in 2019.[br][br]Punch Hole Camera/Display:[br][br]The punch hole camera is mankind’s saviour from the dungeons of the notch display. Samsung’s Infinity-O display was a pioneer and helped push this idea into the mainstream. As we speak, many other manufacturers are adopting it and I trust Infinix mobility to improve on it this year. [br][br]Punch hole displays are beautiful and allow selfie camera to thrive without insulting our delicate eyes with the proteusions of a notch. All hail our saviour![br][br]5G[br][br] (, 下载次数: 0) [br][br]By far the biggest innovation in mobile devices in 2019 is going to be 5G technology. As of now on Janauary, the first commercial 5G networks are being rolled out already and we will see the first 5G smartphones this year.[br][br]This means that there will be an exclusive class of smartphones with the ability to deliver insanely fast mobile internet. These 5G smartphones will be aspirational items, for obvious reasons.[br][br]What other innovations in mobile devices in 2019 can we expect to see?[br]Expect to see quad cameras and penta cameras. Hopefully, the super elusive Nokia 9 PureView will finally be announced and arrive in the market.[br][br]These camera configurations will be seen on some flagship smartphones. They just won’t be common enough or make enough difference to be hot during the year.[br][br]Lastly, we will see a continued resurgence of the slider feature in smartphones. Being mechanical, they are more prone to damage but the novelty of the slider will make it a feature that a number of manufacturers will continue to use.[br][br]The feature will not go mainstream, as it will be mostly seen in high-end devices.[br][br]And so, we have come to the end of this feature on the top innovations on mobile devices in 2019.[br][br]What do you think? Without the network providers first running on 5G it will be a waste of money to buy for that singular reason. and I doubt if they are ready to run with 5G when they could barely make a stable 4G.

I'm sure we'll see camera cut out on display and on screen finger print while notch buzz will faze out for good
