Data in our part of the world is quite costly and eats into our daily budget. In order to save more of your money, there is the need to cut down on the cost you incur on various things you spend on. Data is something you can spend less on and still enjoy its full use in a way– you just have to press the right buttons. So I have sampled these methods that will help you consume less data with your Android device.[br][br]How to consume less data on Android[br][br]Data usage is how much data your device uploads or downloads using mobile data. To make sure that you’re not using too much data on your data plan, you can check and change your data usage.[br][br]Data Saving Mode[br][br]On Android 7.0 and above, you can automatically activate the data saving mode by following these steps.[br][br][ul][li]Open your device’s Settings app.[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]Tap Network & Internet[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]Proceed to tap Data usage[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]Tap on Data saver.[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]Turn Data saver on.[br][/li][/ul]When data saver mode is on, you’ll see the Data saver icon in your status bar and a notification at the top of your device’s Settings app.[br][br]Set mobile data usage warning or limit[br][br]This enables you to screen how much data you’re utilizing, enabling you to postpone bandwidth-intensive tasks when on a metered connection.[br][br]You also can set a warning to alert you when your device has used a certain amount of mobile data.[br][br]To set a mobile data usage warning:[br][br][ul][li]Open your device’s Settings app.[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]Tap Network & Internet Data usage.[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]Tap Mobile data usage Settings.[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]Tap Data warning.[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]Enter a number. To switch between megabytes (MB) and gigabytes (GB), tap the Down arrow .[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]Tap Set.[br][/li][/ul]When your usage reaches the level you picked, you’ll get a notification.[br][br]You can set a limit to automatically turn off mobile data when your device has used a certain amount of mobile data.[br][br]Note: Some features won’t work when mobile data is turned off.[br][br]To set a data usage limit:[br][br][ul][li]Open your device’s Settings app.[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]Tap Network & Internet Data usage.[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]Tap Mobile data usage Settings .[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]If it’s not already on, turn on Set data limit. Read the on-screen message and tap Ok.[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]Tap Data limit.[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]Enter a number. To switch between megabytes (MB) and gigabytes (GB), tap the Down arrow .[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]Tap Set.[br][/li][/ul]When you reach your limit and your data automatically turns off:[br][br]You’ll get a notification.[br][br][ul][li]To turn mobile data back on, follow the steps above and turn off Set data limit.[br][/li][/ul]Alternatively, you can discipline yourself by turning your data on and off depending on the time you need it.
