Mozilla's new anti-tracking feature for its Firefox browser allows users to block fingerprinting and cryptomining sites. The update has come as part of the Firefox Nightly Beta 68 and Beta 67.[br][br][br]

Once you've updated to the latest update, head to Main Menu ] Preferences ] Privacy and Security ] Under ‘Content Blocking', click on Custom ] Check Cryptominers and Fingerprinters so that they are both blocked. Post this, Firefox should block any scripts that are part of Disconnect's compiled list.[br][br]Firefox has explained that this new feature will soon make way to stable builds and be extended to all Firefox users. [br][br]The new feature makes Firefox the first major browser for Windows to offer fingerprint protection after Apple's Safari which started a campaign against pixel and fingerprint tracking. The service is important because it adds an extra and very important layer of protection for your browser to stop marketing firms from gathering data on you. This added to the existing technology that was first seen in Tor browser called "letterboxing".
