INFINIX S4, A WORTHY UPGRADE FROM ITS PREDECESSORS.

[br] [br][br][br]Infinix recently launched the S4 series in Nairobi and upon first impression of the device, it doesn’t take long for one to be wowed by its sleek physical framework.[br][br]But was it an upgrade or a downgrade? I compared it with its previous version Infinix S3. The S3 had a screen size of 5.65 inches compared to S4 with 6.2 inches.[br][br]In S4 they have upgraded from Android v.8.0 to 9.0, a single main camera of 13MP to triple camera design with 13, 8, and 2 MP.[br][br]The storage has also been improved from only 3/32 GB to 6/64GB apart from that other features remain the same.[br][br]The device measures at 156 x 75 x 7.9 mm (height x width x thickness), with the HD+ water drop display, 500nits screen brightness and with a weight of about 154 grams. It’s lightweight, portable and fits into the hand perfectly.[br][br]Under the hood, the it runs on Octa-core 2.0GHz MediaTek P22 processor, paired with 32GB ROM+3GB RAM/64GB ROM + 4GB RAM for optimum performance at all times.[br][br]It also has face ID and fingerprint scanner. The Android 9 Pie OS is also coupled with the latest XOS 5.0 interface to enhance security for content safety, provide for more variance in aesthetics, encourage the creation of custom “themes” for the base guidelines and provide bold style for unique personalization and greater efficiency for battery life management.[br][br]Here are some of the specifications that stand out in this phone:[br][br]It has one of the best camera resolution and it will be one of the phone’s most important selling points. Operating system Infinix S4 operates on an octa-core Cortex-A53 processors clocking up to 2.2GHz.[br][br]S4 runs on the latest version of Android OS 9.0 pie, and the latest Infinix XOS Skin – v5.0 Cheetah versions. It is powered by the latest MediaTek Hellio P22 technology with a powerful Cortex-A53 CPU.[br][br]For the gamers, the power GE38320 GPU graphics technology is powerful enough to support any game with the best resolution.[br][br]HUGE STORAGE SPACE[br][br]The powerful processor and the large RAM storages can handle any speed and game graphics quality without experiencing hanging and scratches.[br][br]In terms of storage, S4 provides a huge storage space up to 64 GB in internal storage alone. However, users can extend the size by adding an external storage chip.[br][br]It allows up to 128 GB expandable memory with a MicroSD slot. The internal storage is however large enough to store any amount of data for most users.[br][br]The 3GB and 6GB RAMs provide a great running space for the processor, giving it enough power to handle all the core operations and additional ones such as games and complex computations for advanced users.[br][br]Both the 32GB and 64GB versions have a twin sim capability and 4G LTE connectivity. It also supports the latest wireless 802.11a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.0 technologies respectively. Twin sim allows users to take advantage of the services from the leading telecommunication service providers in the country.[br][br]I was disappointed that it does not come with its own gallery and one is forced to use google photos or download an app to access their pictures.[br][br]The S4 comes in different colours such as Nebular Blue, Space Grey and Twilight Purple and is available for sale at any authorised Infinix retail shop or online store at Sh15,999.[br][br]Hilary Kimuyu
