[br][br]Coimbatore: Owner and founder of an automobile company, Soundhirajan Kumarasamy, a Coimbatore-based entrepreneur has designed and manufactured a 'Super Sonic Hydrogen Higher Efficiency IC engine' that runs on distilled water and uses hydrogen as fuel source and releases oxygen, instead of harmful gases that all motor vehicles release.[br][br]His 99 percent eco-friendly invention is a bid to reduce air pollution caused by vehicles on roads. 'According to a report published by the World Health (WHO), organisation world wide annually, 70-lakh people and six-lakh children die from diseases and disorders caused by air pollution.If we work on bringing down the air pollution on our roads several lives will be saved.' Soundhirajan Kumarasamy told DC.[br][br]A class XI dropout, prior to becoming an entrepreneur Soundhirajan worked in a power loom unit owned by his father at his home town in Vellakoil town located in Kangeyam taluk in Tirupur district. His tryst with machinery thus began.[br][br]The self-taught individual relocated to the textile city and spent a majority of his time reading literature at the District Central Library located in RS Puram here. He went on and founded an automobile company in partnership with his friend in 2000. However, the amount of pollution caused by motor vehicles on our roads constantly worried him and there was a committed urge in him to find a solution for the problem.[br][br]After trial and error for a decade and investing money running into several lakh of rupees, the entrepreneur tried and tested the engine designed by him for which the government of India granted him patient rights. 'The engine will be introduced in Japan in the near future and it will be subsequently launched in India too,' he says. Soundhirajan further said, as he lacked the financial capacity to manufacture the engine on a large scale, he is considering the option of partnering with automobile manufactures to make his creation available to the masses and thus bring down the amount of vehicular pollution on roads. While the eco-friendly 'Super Sonic Hydrogen Higher Efficiency IC engine' costs a little more than the regular engines, it produces a comparatively better output.
