Mahindra XUV300 sells more than Ford EcoSport & Honda WR-V in March 2019

[/div][div style="text-align: center;"]Mahindra's latest vehicle to enter the market, the XUV300 has got all the right attention ever since its launch. The company sold 4,742 units of the sub-4 meter SUV in March 2019, which is a pretty decent number for a new vehicle. This is a jump of around 250 units from February 2019, where the manufacturer sold 4,484 units of the XUV300. February was also the debut month of the sub-4 meter SUV and it started out pretty solid in terms of sales. In its segment, the Mahindra XUV300 rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, and the Ford Ecosport among others.[/div][div style="text-align: center;"][br][/div][div style="text-align: center;"]The sales in the sub-4 meter segment were again led by the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, of which 14,181 units were sold in March.[/div][div style="text-align: center;"][br][/div][div style="text-align: center;"]Next in sales is the Tata Nexon, of which 5,616 units were sold in March. Following closely is the Mahindra XUV300 with 4,742 units. The Ford Ecosport and Honda WR-V are next with 4,241 and 2,552 units sold respectively. This translates into Mahindra XUV300 being the third best selling sub-4 meter SUV already. The current waiting period of the XUV300 is between 3-4 weeks.[/div][div style="text-align: center;"][br][/div][div style="text-align: center;"]Though the XUV300 is a bit expensive than the rest of its rivals, Mahindra has filled it to brim with features. It comes with several segment first features such as disc brakes on all wheels 7 airbags, and also has the longest wheelbase among its rivals. It is based on the SsangYong Tivoli which is a larger SUV. Other features on the SUV include height adjustable driver's seat, push-button start, keyless entry, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 6 speaker audio, cruise control, dual zone climate control, leather wrapped steering and gear knob, projector headlamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, ambient lighting, heated wing mirrors, and sunroof.[/div][div style="text-align: center;"][br][/div][div style="text-align: center;"][br][/div][div style="text-align: center;"][br][/div][div style="text-align: center;"]

As already mentioned, it is the first vehicle in the segment to offer 7 airbags. Other safety features include ABS+EBD, ESP, rollover mitigation, Hill Hold, disc brakes on all four wheels, front parking sensors, rear parking sensors + camera, speed alert and seat belt reminder[/div][div style="text-align: center;"][br][/div][div style="text-align: center;"]Talking of the engines, the Mahindra XUV300 is offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol engine is a newly developed 1.2 litre, 3 cylinder turbocharged unit that churns out a maximum power of 110 Bhp and a class-leading 200 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine, on the other hand, is borrowed from the Marazzo MPV but has been slightly detuned for better efficiency. The 1.5 litre, 4 cylinder diesel engine here churns out a maximum power of 115 Bhp along with 300 Nm of torque. Both engines get 6-speed manual gearboxes as standard.
