Google Maps: How to add, edit and delete public events

It looks like Google Maps has started allowing users to create public events and share those events with other members. This new feature was first spotted by Android Police, describing what the feature is going to be all about. Apparently, this new feature works through the ‘Contribute’ section in Google Maps. To recall, ‘Contribute’ previously allowed users to rate businesses.[br][br][br] [br][br]Google hasn’t officially announced it yet but it’s currently available for select users. At the moment of writing this, Google Maps events feature may be limited to Android users. However, we are expecting a more widespread roll out to the desktop as well as iOS users of google maps.According to reports, the performance of the app is somewhat inconsistent at the moment, which explains why the feature is not accessible to everyone.[br][br]According to the Android Police report, there is no clarity with regards to the eligibility criteria determining the availability of the ‘Add event’ feature to Google Maps’ users. Google has outlined the procedure to add, edit or delete public events in Google Maps. Here’s what you need to know. But Google notes that this feature might not be available in some areas.[br][br]How to add or create an event in Google Maps[br][br][ul][li]Make sure that you have an updated Google Maps running in your phone. Given the limited availability to Android users, it is imperative that you go to the Google Play Store and see whether you have received an update.[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]Open Google Maps application in your Android phone or tablet. Navigate to ‘Contribute’ tab ] Events. Now tap the option ‘Add a public event.’[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]Now, add all basic and required information like the name of the event, location, time and more. Simply follow all the on-screen instructions.[br][/li][/ul]How to edit or delete your event in Google Maps[br][br][ul][li]Once again, open Google Maps in your Android phone or tablet and tap the ‘Contribute’ tab. Navigate to events ] Select your event.
