This Electric Motorcycle Maker Is Coming To India With An Entry-Level Bike, Charging Setup And More

Chinese bikemaker, Evoke Motorcycles is one such player that aims to bring its electric motorcycles to India soon.[br][br]Evoke already has two electric bikes in its portfolio, namely the Urban S and the Urban Classic. But the company is not looking to bring these to India. Instead, it will be coming up with an entirely new product in the country, an entry-level offering that will be pitted against the 125-150 cc ICE motorcycles.[br][br][img src="/storage/emulated/0/Download/browser-photos/2d3ba99376a61dcfd11208ff8b6a1195.jpg"][br]The target has been confirmed by Evoke Motorcycles’ co-founder and CEO, Nathan Siy in a recent interview. In addition to the entry-level bike launch upon its debut in India, the firm will also be setting up a design centre in the country dedicated to electric vehicles.[br][br]This will also help in localisation of its manufacturing process, which the company eventually aims to raise to a 70% make of its vehicles. The plan is to import only the motor and the batteries of the vehicles, while manufacturing the rest in India. The company also eyes India as a potential base to produce and export its products from here.[br][img src="/storage/emulated/0/Download/browser-photos/645fd54b896b2bd4065696473a44aa8e.jpg"][br][br]Back in its home market, Evoke is also responsible for setting up charging infrastructure and coming to India, it plans on a similar model here. Siy [a href="https://www.autocarpro.in/news-national/china%E2%80%99s-evoke-motorcycles-plots-india-entry-with-electric-bike-42555"]says[/a], “We are striving to ensure that ultra-fast charging, extended range and enjoyable speeds are maintained.” The company might do it with its 7.7 kW fast charger that claims to take just 15 mins to charge a battery to full.[br][br]Meanwhile, Evoke Motorcycles will be coming up with another of its electric motorcycles soon. Named 6061, the bike is expected to be unveiled later this year in the company’s international market. There is, however, no information on the timeline of the one custom made for India, which is currently codenamed Project M1.[br][br]
