[br][br]Jaguar I-Pace has created a history by winning across three categories at the 2019 World Car Awards. The electric vehicle was honoured with 2019 World Car of the Year, 2019 World Car Design of the Year and 2019 World Green Car awards. Never before in the 15-year history of World Car Awards has any single car won across three categories.[br][br]Jaguar I-Pace boasts of a 90kWh lithium-ion battery. While the electric vehicle can be charged up to 80 per cent in just 40 minutes using 100kW DC power supply, the same amount of charging can be achieved in a little over ten hours by using a domestic wall box (7kW AC).[br][br]Exterior features like cab-forward profile, short overhangs and muscular haunches make Jaguar I-Pace look different from other cars. It comes with spacious interiors with premium detailing that shows the company's craftsmanship. I-Pace has also received a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating. Its body structure provides high levels of occupant protection and is complemented by technologies designed to protect other road users and pedestrians. More than 11,000 units of Jaguar I-Pace have been sold in over than 60 countries till date.[br][br]"It is an honour that the Jaguar I-Pace has received these three accolades from the prestigious World Car jurors," Jaguar Land Rover Chief Executive Officer Ralf Speth said.[br][br]"We started with an ideal, to move towards our Destination Zero vision; zero emissions, zero accidents and zero congestion. I-Pace is our first step to achieving this, and it was conceived when EVs were little[br]more than a niche choice," Speth added.[br][br]McLaren 720S was declared the 2019 World Performance Car at the 2019 World Car Awards. The car beat the likes of Aston Martin Vantage and Mercedes-Benz AMG 4-door Coupe to clinch the title.[br][br]Commenting on the win, McLaren Automotive Chief Executive Officer Mike Flewitt said: "We feel grateful anytime one of our cars wins an award, but to have the 720S named World Performance Car is particularly special."[br][br]"We believe the 720S is a revolutionary step forward for both McLaren, as well as the supercar segment, and to have it recognized in this way by an organization made up of the most esteemed media across the globe is a great honour," Flewitt noted.[br][br]Audi AG continued its hold over the luxury car segment with A7 being declared the 2019 World Luxury Car. At the 2018 World Car Awards, Audi A8 had won in this prestigious category. It was also the company's 10th win at the awards.[br][br]"It is a great honour for Audi to win the 'World Luxury Car' award twice in a row," said Hans-Joachim Rothenpieler, Member of the Board of Management of AUDI AG Technical Development.[br][br]"We are very proud of this award because it shows Audi's ability to develop leading premium cars in various segments," Rothenpieler added.[br][br]Also, Suzuki Jimny was declared the 2019 World Urban Car. The vehicle was also one of the top three finalists in the World Car Design of the Year category, where Jaguar I-Pace was declared the winner. Suzuki Jimny beat the likes of Hyundai AH2/Santro and Kia Soul to clinch the award.[br][br]"We at Suzuki are greatly honoured to receive this award.
