[br][br]HP (Hewlett-Packard) has unveiled its second generation PC VR backpack named HP VR Backpack G2. This next generation VR backpack comes with upgrades that make it ready to handle VR engines including Unreal and Unity.[br][br]All thanks to the developments like the improved inside-out tracking available on modern headsets, faster components, and some important design tweaks, HP’s updated VR Backpack makes more sense now than ever before.[br][br][br]
[br][br]The wearable PC comes equipped with an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 CPU and an Nvidia RTX 2080 GPU. This gives it 30% performance improvement over the first generation system as well as a 25% faster graphics. Additionally, HP VR backpack comes with 32GB of RAM, up to 1TB of SSD storage.[br][br]HP claims that it is the world’s most compact commercial VR desktop. One more interesting feature is the PC can be removed from the backpack mount and docked into a dedicated station. The feature will give the developers the freedom to create at their desks and then quickly move to backpack mode to test their creations out.[br][br][br]
[br][br]The backpack is aimed squarely at creatives and work scenarios like job training, VR development, and more. The PC packs plenty of power can be strapped into a backpack so the user can freely move around without being tethered to a stationary desktop.[br][br]Powering everything is a pair of hot-swappable batteries, potentially allowing you to keep roaming freely if you have enough charged and ready to go.[br][br]Moreover, it includes two USB 3.0 ports, one Thunderbolt-enabled USB-C port, an HMD power port, and a headphone-microphone combo port. Additional USB ports and an ethernet jack are included on the dock as well.[br][br][br]
[br][br]HP also announced the new ZBook PCs aimed at architects, designers, and other creators. The ZBook 15 G6 and the ZBook 17 G6 come with the choice of 9th-gen Intel Core and Intel Xeon processors, and next-gen Nvidia Quadro RTX graphics. Both ZBooks offer tool-less expandability to quickly upgrade memory and storage.[br][br]The ZBook 17 G6 achieves full performance for simulation and GPU rendering. For color-critical workflows, it features the world’s first 17-inch mobile workstation display with 100 percent DCI-P3.[br][br]If you want to buy an HP VR Backpack for yourself, there won’t be anything stopping you if you have $3,299 to hand. It’ll be available this summer. While the new ZBooks and Z desktops are expected to launch throughout July and August with pricing to be revealed later. |
