[br][p]Amazon Prime Video has a wide variety of content worth watching. However, the company’s ongoing battle with Google makes it impossible for you to cast directly to your Chromecast to watch the videos on your television.[p]Simply put, Amazon doesn’t include Chromecast integration because they want people to buy a Fire Stick to stream the videos. This competition has resulted in a lack of options for customers who have both Prime Video and a Chromecast device.[p]However, it seems that there has been a breakthrough in relations between Google and Amazon. On April 18, 2019, the companies released a statement announcing that Amazon will add Chromecast support to its Prime Video app. This support makes it possible to cast those Amazon videos to the television directly from your phone.[p]Finally, integration is coming. However, there’s no definite date for this to begin, so in the meantime there is a way around it that lets you watch that Amazon Prime content on your TV – casting from your PC. This method of casting doesn’t always produce the best results, but there are some settings tweaks you can make to improve the video quality.[p]
[br][h2]How to Cast Prime Video[/h2][p]The best way to work around the lack of Chromecast support on Amazon Prime is to cast your videos from a laptop or desktop on the Chrome browser.[p]We will work under the assumption that you already have a Chromecast device attached to your television or have a smart TV with the ability to receive a cast from another device.[p]You do not need to have an Amazon Prime account to cast their videos, but if you do, you have a much wider variety of choices.[p]To cast from your PC to your Chromecast, you must have the latest version of the Google Chrome browser on your PC or Mac.[p]1. Open Google Chrome on your computer.[p]2. Log in to Prime if you have it.[p]3. Choose a movie or show to watch and start it.[p]4. Once the video is playing, click on the Chrome menu by clicking on the three dots in the upper-right corner.[div][figure]

One problem is that if you watch the video on your browser as well as the Chromecast, the audio may begin stuttering. Another issue is that casting from the browser limits the quality to 1080p. The quality of the stream may also be affected by the speed and condition of your Internet connection.[p]Both these issues can be addressed with a few small changes.[p]First, you can enable a flag in the Chrome browser called #enable-new-remote-playback-pipeline. It optimizes the streaming of video from the PC to the Chromecast. To get this flag, follow the below instructions:[p]1.
