But with Venue being more feature-rich, and better suited for urban…[br][br]Hyundai Venue set to be launched on 21st May 2019, is slated to make a notable impact in the company SUV segment; thanks to its wide range of connectivity features. [br][br]The new Venue is expected to take off some of the glitter from its older and more established sibling, the Hyundai Creta – which is a bigger sized 5 seater as compared to Venue. [br][br]It also sits above the Venue in the company line-up. We list below the differences in the Venue and Creta in terms of design, dimensions, engine specifications and price.[br][br]Design[br][br]The Hyundai Creta is a mid sized SUV unlike the Venue which falls into the sub 4 meter compact SUV segment. [br][br]Hyundai Venue, the company’s first ever compact SUV is based on the Carlino concept showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. It also borrows inspiration from the Santa Fe and Palisade and comes in with the company’s signature cascading grille, lower set projector headlamps, LED DRLs, high mounted indicators and projector headlamps. The Venue sits on 16” alloy wheels, gets large roof rails and underbody cladding.[br][br]In terms of its exterior design, the Hyundai Venue is visibly different from the Creta. The larger Creta boasts of a strong body structure and an iconic design. Based on the company’s new Fluidic Sculpture 2.0, this design is also seen on the Verna and Elantra. The Creta also gets a cascading grille, get a differently designed front and rear bumper, sits on 17” alloy wheels and gets reworked head and tail lamps.[br][br][img src="/storage/emulated/0/Download/hyundai-creta-vs-venue-india.jpg"][br][br]Dimensions [br]The Hyundai Venue in smaller than the Creta. It measures 3,995mm in length, 1,770mm in width and 1,590 mm in height with a 2,500mm long wheelbase.[br][br]The Creta on the other hand measures 4,270 mm in length, 1,780 mm in width and 1,630 mm in height with a 90mm longer wheelbase as compared to that seen on the Venue at 2,590mm. [br][br]The boot space of the Creta is also more than that seen on the Venue at 405 liters, with boot space of the Venue likely to be around 350 liters.[br][br]Interiors [br]This is where there are major changes between the Venue as compared to the Hyundai Creta. [br][br]The Creta scores at the top of its class in terms of interior accessories with numerous comfort and safety features which puts it above most of its competitors. [br][br]It gets leather seating, multi function steering wheel controls, full touchscreen infotainment system with SatNav, leather door pads. [br][br]The Creta also gets an extended amount of safety features among which are driver, passenger, side and curtain airbags, ABS, EBD, ISOFIX seat mounts, anti lock doors along with keyless entry and cruise control.[br][br]The Venue is seen in an all black color scheme. It will come in with differently designed steering wheel, central console and switches. [br][br]It will also receive wireless smartphone charging, cruise control, electric sunroof, rear AC vents and a total of 6 airbags which are also seen on the Hyundai Creta. [br][br]However, that’s where the similarity ends. The new Hyundai Venue is slated to be the first connected vehicle to be launched in India. It gets a larger infotainment system as compared to the 8” one seen on the Creta with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with Hyundai’s BlueLink software. [br][br]This includes a total of 33 connectivity features out of which 10 are specifically designed for the Indian market and an embedded e-SIM. [br][br][img src="/storage/emulated/0/Download/hyundai-creta-vs-venue-india-1.jpg"][br][br]Engine Specifications [br]Hyundai Venue and Creta are both offered with three engine options. The Venue gets two petrol engines and one diesel engine, while the Creta is powered by one petrol engine and two diesel engines. The Venue and Creta share the same 1.4 liter diesel engine, but there are differences in their petrol engine options.[br][br]The Venue gets its power via a 1.0 liter turbocharged petrol engine offering 120 bhp power and 171 Nm torque (more torque than Creta petrol) and a 1.2 liter petrol engine offering 83bhp power and 114 Nm torque. [br][br]The petrol engine on the Creta is a 1.6 liter unit offering 122 bhp power and 151 Nm torque. Here, though the power figure is almost the same as that offered on the Venue, but torque is considerably higher on the Venue.[br][br]Transmission Options[br]Hyundai Venue and Creta diesel receive 6 speed manual gearbox as standard. However, the Venue petrol 1 liter receives a 7 speed dual clutch transmission as well as 6 MT, while Venue 1.2 petrol engine gets mated to 5 speed. Hyundai Creta diesel is more powerful, and is also offered with automatic option[br][br]Price [br]Hyundai Creta, being a larger SUV as compared to the Venue, is also priced higher in a price range from Rs.9.6 lakhs to Rs.15.65 lakhs. The company has not yet revealed pricing of the Hyundai Venue but estimates put in it the Rs.8-13 lakh range.[br][br]Interestingly, around the same time of Venue debut, Hyundai also showcased the new generation Creta, which is larger than the current Creta. [br][br]Not only it is larger, it is also a connected car like Venue. Set to be launched in India by mid 2020, the new gen Creta will be priced considerably higher than the current Creta. This will allow Hyundai to price Venue higher than rivals, and at the same time, considerably lower than than the new Creta.[br][br]These differences listed above should make the buyer decide which one of these Hyundai offerings is better. [br][br]Conclusion[br][br]If you want a bigger and more spacious car, Creta is for you. But if space is not your worry, and you want an urban, modern SUV, Venue should be higher on your buying list.
