Since it is a government-backed scheme, it earns fixed interest and offers guaranteed return. The interest is compounded annually. NEFT: One can deposit money in PPF account using NEFT. It can be done through net banking. In order to deposit money using NEFT, you must have your PPF account number, IFSC code of the bank branch where your PPF account is held. The NEFT transfer can be done from savings, as well as, current account. [br][br]2. ECS: Electronic Clearing System mandate or ECS is a process using which you can transfer a fixed amount periodically from one account to another. You can set an ECS mandate for your PPF account and your PPF contribution amount will be deducted from your bank account automatically and will be deposited in the PPF account. This method is generally preferred for interbank transfer of money.[br][br]3. Standing transfer instruction: You can also give you bank standing instruction to debit and transfer money from your ank account to your PPF account within the same bank. With this, one can deposit money or daily basis as well monthly basis depending upon the maximum deposit limit of Rs 1.5 lakh per year. Once you give your bank the standing instruction, the money will be debited from your account and deposited in your PPF account automatically. [br][br]Online deposit in PPF account is a great way to make sure that you do not miss out on any contribution and are consistent with your deposits.
