Liverpool and Egypt international goal-machine Mohamed Salah was named 2017 African Player of the Year during Thursday's Confederation of African Football annual awards ceremonies in Accra, Ghana.

Salah bested Reds brethren and Senegal international Sadio Mane for the honour, with Borussia Dortmundand Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang finishing third.
