The SoundFi application is unique in that it allows you to download the sound for an entire movie in the language of your choice. All you have to do is go to the cinema, launch the application, put on your headphones and immerse yourself in the film with the image in front of you and a quality sound (in your mother tongue) in your ears.[br][br]Who is this app for?[br][br]At this point, you may be wondering what the point is. Why would it be interesting to want to listen to a film in another language when you are in the cinema? This is a question that everyone in the room had probably asked themselves. Expatriates are of course the biggest beneficiaries of this system since they live in a country where the language may not be their mother tongue, so for the sake of understanding the film this has an obvious advantage. The big fans of original version movies will also appreciate this feature, without a doubt.[br][br]SoundFi works directly with the companies behind the movies (Paramount, in the case we experienced) to offer the sound for download. Keep in mind that this is not live viewing, the entire soundtrack is downloaded in advance. Now, you may be wondering how it is possible that there is no delay....[br][br][br][br]A whole soundtrack to download in a few seconds. SoundFi © SoundFi[br]A well-thought-out technology[br]SoundFi uses an interesting technology that allows you to synchronize the image with the sound. In other words, no delay is possible: when you start the soundtrack you have previously downloaded, it synchronizes with the movie.[br][br]In order to obtain quality sound, you need quality headphones. SoundFi provided us with a Sennheiser headset (HD 4.50 BTNC), which was comfortable and, combined with the audio provided by SoundFi, managed to immerse us in the film.[br][br]Is it worth it?[br]In the end, you watch a movie so if you don't like it, even the best technology in the world will struggle to make it interesting. In our case, it was a horror film called "Pet Sematary" based on Stephen King's novel Simetierre. It takes a little time to get used to two soundtracks because the headset may offer good insulation, you can still hear the original soundtrack in the room, i.e. in German, but not your neighbor who eats popcorn and that's not bad. After a few minutes, you don't pay any attention to it anymore and you quickly find yourself immersed in the film.[br][br]
[br][br][br]I had installed the application and downloaded the soundtrack in French but, unfortunately, the synchronization didn't work on my Samsung Galaxy A50, so I had to use an iPhone and listen to the soundtrack in English. The result is excellent, the 3D quality is very good and I am sure it is the same with other language versions. Note that it is not possible to copy the downloaded soundtrack.[br][br]The idea itself is very good and the realization is also very good but there are some small problems. The user must have a quality headset and it is unlikely that cinemas or SoundFi will offer one to each user (they are expensive and in terms of hygiene and theft it could quickly become complicated). The second potential concern is the target market for this type of product is very niche. Who would go to the cinema to listen to a film in a language other than expats?
