[p]In the 'Unauthorized Usage of WhatsApp Policy' section of its FAQ page, Whatsapp says that any user or institution that sends bulk messages or sends automated messages simultaneously will face legal action from December 7 onwards. However, Whatsapp has not clarified what kind of legal action it will take on the user. The incident of Whatsapp's misuse came to light during the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. Users were found to be sending bulk messages to Whatsapp through the Free Clone app and software tools. Whatsapp has been the target of the central government since last year due to fake news and rumor spread.
