[br][br]Google has been mostly keeping its Fuchsia OS under the wraps, but the company has finally launched a dedicated website for developers. Not many may recall, but Google did announce its Fuchsia OS at the grand stage of Google IO 2018 and Senior Vice President of Android and Chrome Hiroshi Lockheimer detailed about the plan. Before you even think whether this will replace Android or even Chrome OS, then the answer is no. [br][br]Talking about the Fuchsia OS, Lockheimer explained, "Google has many projects underway. We're a technology company, so we invest in various technologies and experiments and so on. And some of those experiments and investments, we do in public as open source projects. Fuchsia is one of them." The statement put all speculations to the side, which claimed that Fuchsia OS could be Android successor. Remember, the Fuchsia OS is still in its early days, and we may see a lot more details surfacing over in coming months or years. [br][br]Interestingly, the new website on Fuchsia OS has almost no further details about the new project and talks straight forward about technicalities. Notably, the Fuchsia OS isn't based on the Linux kernel and uses what Google calls Zircon (previously named as Magenta) which functions entirely differently. The company has also listed the supported hardware to run Fuchsia OS related documents and codes which includes Google Pixelbook with no surprises and Acer Switch Alpha 12.
