[br][br]YouTube has kept its Picture-in-picture mode for premium users for long, but after extending it to non-premium users in the US last year in June, the company is now ready to roll this feature out to users across the world.[br][br]As per reports, YouTube's PiP mode is currently rolling to non-Premium users in Italy, but users have also reported receiving the feature in a few other countries. This despite Google's support page only mentioning non-paying US users as being able to benefit from PiP playback with ads.[br][br]So it isn't clear if the feature is being extended to newer countries or users at random. Still, if you happen to live in one of the countries where PiP service is being tested, or happen to be one of those non-premium lucky users who Google is extending this service too, here's how you can turn on the PiP mode.[br][br]The option to turn on PiP mode can be found in Settings ] General menu in YouTube's Android app. However, one thing to note here is that this service only works on devices running Android 8.0 Oreo or later.[br][br]Talking about Premium users of YouTube in India, earlier last week, reports had emerged claiming Google's recently announced three new services in the country -- YouTube Music, YouTube Music Premium, and YouTube Premium -- within a month of their launch have started facing issues.[br][br]Many users have taken to social media platforms to complain about how they are seeing ads and background playback feature isn't working within these paid platforms that on paper promise ad-free music and videos as well as premium content.[br][br]For those who are availing these services on a premium to avoid ads or add background playback functionality, this issue which appears to be caused by a bug is proving to be problematic. As far as Google and its YouTube team are concerned, they have acknowledged the issue, and have assured users that a fix for this on the way. |
