[br][br]If you have back up and sync on, photos and videos that you delete will stay in your bin for 60 days before they are deleted forever.[br][br][strong]Tip:[/strong] To move all your photos to a different account.[br][br][strong]Before you delete photos & videos[/strong][br][br][strong]Delete photos and videos[/strong][br][br][ul][li]On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app.[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]Sign in to your Google account.[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]Tap and hold a photo or video that you want to move to the bin. You can select multiple items.[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]At the top right, tap Bin > [strong]Move to bin[/strong]. [br][/li][/ul][strong]Notes:[/strong][br][br]If you delete a photo or video that’s backed up in Google Photos, it will stay in your bin for 60 days.[br][br][ul][li]If you delete an item from your Android device without it being backed up, it will stay in your bin for 60 days.[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]If you see a photo or video in Google Photos that you think you deleted, it might be on a removable memory card. To delete it, use your device’s gallery app.[br][/li][/ul][strong]Empty your Bin[/strong][br][br]If you see a request to 'Delete permanently' when you try to move an item to bin, your bin is full. Your bin can hold 1.5 GB.[br][br]Important: If you empty your bin, you permanently delete any items in your bin.[br][br]To empty it:[br][br][ul][li]On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app.[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]Sign in to your Google account.[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]Tap Menu > Trash > More : Empty[strong] trash[/strong] > [strong]Delete[/strong].[br][/li][/ul][strong]Remove an item from your device[/strong][br][br]To permanently delete an item from your device:[br][br][ul][li]On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app.[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]Sign in to your Google account.[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]Select the items that you want to delete from your Android phone or tablet.[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]In the top right, tap More : > [strong]Delete from device[/strong].[br][/li][/ul]Give permissions to delete photos from your SD card[br][br][strong]Step 1: Check if you have Android 7.0 and up[/strong][br][br]These steps will only work if you have Android 7.0 and up.[br][br][strong]Step 2: Delete a photo or video[/strong][br][br]When you try to delete a photo or video, you can let Google Photos read your SD card.[br][br][ul][li]On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app.[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]Sign in to your Google account.[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]At the top left, tap Menu = > Device[strong] folders[/strong]. Tap [strong]Apps[/strong] > Photos > Storage.[br][br][strong]Restore photos and videos[/strong][br][br]If you deleted an item and want it back, check your bin to see if it’s there.[br][br][ul][li]On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Photos app.[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]At the top left, tap Menu = > [strong]Trash[/strong] .[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]Touch and hold the photo or video that you want to restore.[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]At the bottom, tap [strong]Restore[/strong]. The photo or video will be back:[br][br][/li][li]In your phone’s gallery app[/li][li]In your Google Photos library[/li][li]In any albums it was in[/li][/ul][br]If the item is not in your bin, it may be permanently deleted.[br][br][strong]Can't see the photo or video?[/strong][br][br]If a deleted photo or video isn't in bin, you can’t restore it. You won't be able to restore a photo if:[br][br]You moved it to the Bin more than 60 days ago[br][br][ul][li]You moved it to the Bin, then emptied your Bin[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]You permanently deleted it from your Bin[br][/li][/ul][ul][li]You permanently deleted it from your device’s Gallery app, without backing it up first.[br][/li][/ul]To find and recover photos easily, [br][br]! |
