Snapchat announces Augmented Reality (AR) Camera Platform, Discover Originals, Snap Games and Snap Kit at the Snap Partner Summit 2019 in Los Angeles. Here's what these new interesting features can do[br][br][br]
[br][br]To bring its users interest back, Snapchat Inc. on Friday introduced a slew of products including, Augmented Reality (AR) Camera Platform, Discover Originals, Snap Games and Snap Kit at the Snap Partner Summit 2019 in Los Angeles. There is nothing left that Snapchat has not included in its new announcements. From playing games, shopping, creating app stories, watching shows/dramas/series to solving math problems, with the introduction of these new features, Snapchat has now become more than just a multimedia messaging app. [br][br]These new interesting tools can bring Snapchat back to the forefront and may help in bringing back its old glorious days. Here let's see the new Snapchat features in detail below.[br][br]First up, it has brought “Snap Originals”, the company’s premium mobile show platform where you can watch scripted dramas, comedy shows, unscripted social commentary and more on app’s discover page (which was launched in 2015 to explore premium content from editorial perspective).[br][br]Snap Inc. has partnered with creators, production partners (Bunim/Murray Productions, Dakota Pictures, New Form, and Bazelevs), producers, film writers and television writers to provide you binge-worthy shows on its app. [br][br]Shows that Snapchat has announced today includes- Two Slide, Commanders, Untitled BuzzFeed Daily Show, Sneakerheads, While Black, to name a few. All the scripted shows will begin airing on the Snapchat app starting from May 2019. Additionally, it will be renewing few Snap Originals including Endless Summer by Bunim/Murray Productions, Deep Creek by Woodman Park Productions, etc. [br][br]Next up, it announced “Lens Studio”where you can search various interesting camera features and try them out in reality. It also brought out a new “AR Bar and Scan” feature where you can “press and hold” on the Snapchat camera screen and create, scan, browse, and explore all at one place. Basically, it can help you interact with your environment using AR. For instance, you can place your camera in front of sunglasses and then know what are its prices on say, Amazon or Flipkart or Shazam songs using the camera.[br][br][br]
[br][br]It has also launched AR-based “Landmarkers” feature which can transform the location in your surrounding into animated characters. For example, you can point your camera screen towards Eiffel Tower and then the feature will make it puke rainbows. [br][br]As of now, Landmarkers are available in five locations globally including, Eiffel Tower, the Flatiron Building in New York City, Buckingham Palace in London, the Capitol in Washington, DC, and the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.[br][br]Snapchat in partnership with Photomath has also introduced a camera feature which can help you solve math problems. [br][br]Not only this, but Snapchat has also introduced “Snap games”, a new real-time multiplayer gaming platform which will provide you with a host of original and third-party games including Game Closure, PikPok, Spry Fox, Zeptolab, and Zynga. [br][br]Few games that Snapchat has included are - Bitmoji Party- where you are brought to life in 3D with your friends, Alphabear Hustle, Snake Squad, Tiny Royale, to name a few. [br] [br]Further, it has also announced, “App stories” which will allow you to create custom stories directly from the app itself. [br][br] |
