On that note, here we take a look at some of the best and most popular features introduced by WhatsApp this year.[br][br]5 best WhatsApp features added in 2019[br][br]Biometric authentication[br][br]The What's app authentication feature essentially lets users opt for FaceID or TouchID authentication for opening the WhatsApp app on their iOS devices and even choose the timeframe after which their WhatsApp app will again be locked with the biometric authentication feature. However, this feature is yet to be made available for stable WhatsApp users on Android.[br][br]Group calling shortcut[br][br]WhatsApp for Android v2.19.9 came with a dedicated call button for WhatsApp group chats while the feature was already available for iPhone users. The new group calling shortcut[br]can be used to make group calls in WhatsApp just by adding the participants at once through a slide-out tray which contains the contact cards of WhatsApp group members. [br][br]Private reply[br][br]The Private Reply feature was recently introduced for Android beta users with version 2.18.355, and it allows you to privately send messages to a member in a particular WhatsApp group without letting other members in the same group know. In order to use this WhatsApp feature, you will need to download the latest version of the Android beta app.[br][br]Improved WhatsApp Web PiP mode[br][br]The Picture-in-Picture video mode was first introduced for iOS users and then for Android OS as with beta version 2.18.301. However, in 2019, WhatsApp introduced an improved version of the What's app web pip mode which enabled users to watch Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube videos within the messaging app itself through a small window. Earlier, the PiP worked for only the videos which were shared by the users themselves[br][br]WhatsApp Tipline[br][br]WhatsApp has announced a new Checkpoint Tip line (+91-9643-000-888) through which users can report any misinformation being spread on the Facebook-owned platform.
