But all of them comes with their own pros and cons.[br][br]The South-Korean based company Lumir Inc. has launched the Lumir K lamp which aims to be a perfect mixture of safe, bright, portable, inexpensive and efficient lighting solution. It uses any old cooking oil as a fuel source to light up an array of LEDs.[br][br]Lumir K converts the small thermal energy of cooking oil into electricity and it turns on the bright LEDs. This amazing lantern will light up where you want and it makes an impact on the world where it is needed.[br][br]Cooking oil is one of the cheapest and familiar ingredients as it is easily found in the grocery store in the city to a small kiosk shop in a remote area. The lamp can be powered through any kind of cooking oil like olive, canola, sunflower oil and without any batteries or external power supply, Lumir K gives you an instant light. It might have different performance depends on the type of oil. But basically, you can use any cooking oil.[br][br][br]

[br][br]The oil is poured into a small canister with a wick, which is then lit to heat up the sensors and turn on the lamp. It can be dimmed by blowing on the top. With 96.79 lumens, the LEDs on the Lumir K are almost 100 times brighter than a candle, or more than four times brighter than a kerosene lamp.[br][br]According to the company, consuming only 5ml of cooking oil, the lamp can provide light for an hour. LUMIR K provides 4.1 times brighter light than kerosene lamps, while its economic effect was also achieved with 80% lower fuel consumption compared to kerosene lamps. It also reduces carbon emissions by about 90%, according to the makers.[br][br][br]

[br][br]Unlike the battery-powered lamps, it doesn’t require recharging and also it is not dependent on the weather like solar devices. In addition, the Lumir K is small and compact enough that can be stored into small storage. It weighs just 590 grams.[br][br]You can enjoy sustainable light of Lumir K for 10 years.
